And best of all, HomePort utilizes the charts mariners have already purchased for and use with their chart plotter.”
With this update on Garmin Marine GPS application, you can use your BlueChart from a preloaded Garmin chartplotter or a preprogrammed data card in the Garmin HomePort. This will benefit user in creating a plan in their computer. You can instantly manage and catalog waypoints, routes, or tracks once the chart data uploaded into this powerful HomePort. Another benefits of this Garmin Marine GPS update is you can plan a route to avoid the hidden underwater hazards and plot a course that will keep your vessel away from hallow or rocky shorelines. Besides that, measuring distance and bearing between waypoints will even more easier with this HomePort so that you an calculate speed and determine estimated time of arrival quickly.
Finally Garmin HomePort allows you to create trip files so you can save and profile trips for your future use. Once you’re finished working in HomePort, all you have to do is transfer the created route back to the Chartplotter through the micro SD / SD card.
